Thanks for checking us out!  This blog will be managed by Soft Deck's staff...which is just me.  So maybe I should say this blog will be managed by the owner of Soft deck, Ross Champion. 

Honestly, I'm not sure exactly what you will find here as we evolve and grow.  My goal with this blog will be to give a little insight in to what the company is about at our core..for now I guess that means me.  Probably a fair amount of information about the challenges of getting a new business with a not-yet-established product off the ground.   And no doubt there will be lots of shameless promotion of Soft Deck, and pandering to my readers to try and get you to come out and see us at events, boat shows, etc.

Those of you who may know me personally, or from the personal watercraft world probably know that I'm not the best at SELF promotion but I think I do a good job promoting the companies that have supported me.  So I will be fighting a bit of an internal struggle to shamelessly promote Soft Deck, which on the one hand I know is one of the greatest products to come along for the boating industry in a long, long time; but on the other hand, this is MY business and I have always felt more comfortable letting my actions speak for me and my abilities.  However I'm am learning to talk about how great Soft Deck is...because how else will you guys find out about it?

So for a little more about me, I am insanely competitive in almost all aspects of my life.  If I'm being honest, probably competitive to a fault.  Unless I'm preforming at my absolute best, things just aren't that fun for me.  I don't have to be beating other people just doing as well as I can.  Which is good most of the time, but makes relaxing or doing things just for fun a bit of a challenge for me.  I have won two IFWA World Freeride titles and I'm still competing on a limited schedule, and am a visible person in the PWC community. 

My main goals with this business are to be an asset to the communities in which we are involved both with our products and actions.  Which I think is pretty simple and straight forward.  But what I mean by that is of course I want to sell lots of our products, but I truly believe the Soft Deck product will be an asset to our customers.  And I feel like it is only good business practice to support those that support you. 

The first market we are entering is the general boating market.  Soft Deck is the best non skid material you can use on decks.  It is barefoot friendly, protects the surfaces it is applied on, looks great, reduces fatigue, holds up far better than any marine carpet, and provides a far safer decking surface for your family/crew.
